The 3 Phases Of Settling In

Settling In

Before Settling In

• Initial Visit:

Prior to your first day, we invite you and your child to visit the nursery. This helps you both become familiar with the space, meet the staff, and ask any questions.

• Registration and Documentation:

We complete all necessary registration forms, health information, and any special requirement—ensuring we’re fully prepared for your child’s arrival.

• Personalised Settling-in Plan:

Based on your child’s needs and any information you share with us, we tailor a flexible settling-in plan.

During the Settling-In Process

• Gradual Transition:

This might include shorter periods at first for gradual separation based on your child’s comfort level.

• One-to-One Support:

Your child will be assigned a Key Worker who becomes their primary point of contact. They offer consistent care, monitor how your child adjusts, and provide personalized attention during this critical phase.

• Calm and Engaging Environment:

We create a nurturing atmosphere with familiar routines and comforting activities. Soft play, quiet spaces, and one-on-one interactions help your child feel safe and engaged.

• Regular Communication:

Throughout the settling-in period, we keep you informed about your child’s progress through verbal updates, written notes, and our secure parent portal. If any concerns arise, we’ll talk them through with you promptly.

After Settling In

• Full Integration:

Once your child shows signs of being comfortable and happy in the nursery, they will transition to the regular schedule. However, we remain flexible and supportive should any further adjustment be needed.

• Ongoing Support:

The settling in process isn’t over after the first few days. We continue to monitor your child’s well-being and progress, and we welcome ongoing dialogue with you about their adjustment and development.

• Feedback and Adjustment:

We actively seek feedback from both. If changes are needed to better support their routine, we adjust accordingly.

*This gradual, thoughtful process is designed to ensure that both you and your child feel confident and supported during one of life’s big transitions. If you have any further questions or need additional guidance, our friendly team is always here to help.
